New College Durham (NCD) is absolutely delighted to celebrate the incredible achievements of our T-Level, A-Level, and BTEC Level 3 students as they joyfully receive their results today. Launched in 2022, T Levels represent not just qualifications; they're exciting technical pathways created in collaboration with employers to meet the ever-changing needs of industry. These programmes empower students to step confidently into the workforce or pursue further training and study. T Levels are two-year courses designed for ambitious 16 to 18-year-olds ready to take their education to the next level after their GCSEs. New College Durham proudly stands at the forefront of innovation with the T-Level qualification that began in 2020, with an ever-growing number of students excelling in their studies this year. Our T-Level students have achieved a fantastic 100% pass rate in four T-Level subjects, with an impressive 66% earning top-tier grades! New College Durham's T-Level Health students are among the first in the country to embrace this qualification, securing exciting places at respected universities such as Sunderland, Northumbria, Teesside, Edge Hill, and Manchester. They're on their way to vibrant careers in Adult Nursing, Nurse Paramedic (Adult), Midwifery, and some are even advancing to NCD University Centre’s innovative Foundation Degree in Healthcare Practice. Charlotte Varley is celebrating her acceptance to Manchester University to study Midwifery. Charlotte shared: “The first year was quite a challenge as we tackled all the theory, but both years were incredible! I loved the practical side, and the support was fantastic!” In T-Level Construction, a remarkable 100% of students achieved a merit grade, paving the way for bright futures with organisations like Durham County Council. One outstanding student undertook an industry placement with Esh Group, playing a key role in the construction of NCD’s brand new Technical and Higher Education Hub, which is set to open in September 2023. Esh Group was so impressed that they've offered this student a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying right here at New College Durham! In a similar success story, another student's dedication during an industry placement with Jasper Kerr Consulting Engineers has earned him a full-time position with the same employer! The accolades continue to roll in; T-Level Digital programmes have also thrived, with students in Digital Production Design Development achieving a 100% qualification rate, opening doors to exciting apprenticeships and further study at New College Durham and esteemed universities like Northumbria, Staffordshire, and Buckinghamshire. New College Durham is equally thrilled with the outstanding achievements of our A-Level students, whose remarkable success showcases their hard work and dedication. An amazing 98% of A-Level students passed their qualifications, with 37% achieving high grades!
